2 Steps To Stay On Track (No Matter How Rough)

Are your goals set? Are you all geared up to get started on them? Have you established some ways to support your goals? What will ensure that you actually stay on your desired path?

It is easy to get off path. It is easy to get all wrapped in stuff in everyday life. You know what I mean? I know, I have been off track with my goals. When you do set goals and establish ways to get where you want to go, how do you stay on track?

When you have clear goals that you want to achieve, it is easier to set the steps to achieve them. It sounds easy. The fact is you will only take control of your goal when you "stop doing things” that you are doing. Look at your life right now? What does it look like? Did you get the steps done today to reach your goal? What you did today will show up later? How then do you stay on track? Here are 2 steps to stay on track towards your goals:

1. Hire a coach or mentor. This is one effective way to stay on track towards what you desire in life. The coach can guide you in the right path. They can tweak your game. There are all types of coaches for any goal from weight loses to relationships to business. Find the right one for you. If you can’t afford one report to someone that you trust. Have a significant other person serve as a coach. This will help ensure that you do what you are supposed to be doing to reach that goal. Most successful people have coaches. They have a coach that tweaks their game. I heard at one time that Oprah Winfrey had 7 coaches. Look how successful she is in her life. I don’t know all I know is that every millionaire I have meet had a coach.

2. Join people that have a goal similar towards yours. There are many organizations out in your own community. If you can’t find one in your area. Check online, there are all types. By surrounding your self with like-minded people can accelerate your steps towards your desire goal. This helps surround yourself with reinforcement on your goal. It holds you accountable.

Most people get off track on their goals at some point. When you find yourself off the track, ask yourself what I am doing right now? Is it towards or away from my desired goal? Once you start to take action on your top priorities, you will gain more confidence. You will have more time power. You will feel like you are walking on water.

Goals And Belief Systems

2/25/2013

Picture
Do you remember saying to yourself, when I do that, I will.... Why do people always make excuses so we don't do the things we really want or desire? It has everything to do with our belief system. This system will shape your destiny.

Here is what we say as of now:

* It's not right to want too much abundance.

* If you are not careful, people will take everything you have!

* All rich people are snobs.

But, remember those days when we were kids what we used to say:

* I am going to be a super hero.

* I am going to be a fireman.

* I am going to be a rock star or movie star.

Or at least someone very important.

What actually happened in our lives that changed our believe in ourselves and our abilities to achieve? In my opinion when we are getting older, we are facing people or experiences in our lives that tell us we could never be, have or acquire something or led us to believe that we could never be all we could be.

Is a bad experience or a huge let down something that happened to make us think we deserve less than our dreams (remembering the days we were kids)? We have to conquer it and change it right now. Be grateful for the things that are still wonderful in our lives. We can re-shape our future through simple techniques like for example goal and target setting.

Let me define once the difference between a goal and a target. At least this is my opinion, because I know there are different explanations about this matter. Through experience in my own life, I came to this definition. Goals have dates, targets don't. Target setting is anything which you need, want or desire to achieve, or master  or may lead to the pathway of realization or acquisition, but may not at this time be revealed, but which you are unconditionally committed to its fulfillment so much so that you can regulate it to your highest level of human commitment, a NEED! E.g. I intend to become a top earner in whatever I do.

Goal setting is simply the act of writing down the result you achieve by a specific date in the near future on a piece of paper, so that you can work towards it in easy baby steps. Easy and achievable it must be, so it will not face any fear of accomplishing that goal. E.g. saying your going to do something for today, and then not  going into it  a little deeper.

We are talking about baby steps. Doing and implementing a little bit on a regular and consistent basis. Taking massive action for just one day won't get you far, however, taking 10 little baby steps every day or so can eventually get you around the world if you just keep going and don't quit!

I Wonder Where the Wonder Went

2/21/2013

Seeing the wonder in things around us is one of the ways we make our lives more meaningful and enjoyable.  The key is to add more wonder to life by re-capturing past wonder, and finding new wonder in the things we do each day.

I believe that wonderment is the bread that feeds our imagination.

I remember when I was in college and I had a chance to fly to different places as I did research and presentations. It was my first time flying. I remember the wonder of looking out at the clouds and the land far below. I remember how the entire thing was a great adventure to me and I was full of wonder.

Also in college, as I flew once in awhile, I always got a window seat - I wanted to be able to watch the ground pass below me. The wonderment of it all - the patterns and beauty of looking out the window was overwhelming. Yes, I would sometimes read or do something else, but much of the flight I would sit… and stare… and be in wonder of it all.

Other times of would take long walk in the park. I would look around at all the beauty of the flowers and imagine the river being a long stretch of life flows and feeling that it was forever connected to me. Those days were all full of wonderment for me and from time to time I revisit these things in my life.

There are many things in our lives that we once considered wonderful (full of wonder). Many of those things we now take for granted. All of this makes me wonder, where the wonder has gone.

Where’s the Wonder?

I believe seeing the wonder in things around us is one of the ways we make our lives more meaningful and enjoyable. This is one of the reasons we go on vacations. Yes, some people’s vacations consist of little more than a beach (which can be wonderful in many ways!). But many more people take time to learn new things on vacations, by going to museums and art galleries. Many of us travel to exotic places to marvel at sites, and cultures and foods. Wonder plays a big part in the allure of these trips and the satisfaction gained from the experiences.

You may be thinking, is wonder really such a big deal? I would say a resounding yes! Why? Think about it, the absence of wonder, is often called boredom, or worse, cynicism. These are not things that people aspire to!

While we can all certainly experience wonder in new things - new locations, new experiences, new books, new ideas, I believe I found an important key to a more enjoyable life outside the plane window. That key is to add more wonder to life by re-capturing past wonder, and finding new wonder in the things I do each day.

Re-discovering Wonder

There are several things we can do to add to the wonder in our lives - to make our lives more wonder-full.

1.Look at things with fresh eyes.

Think about things that have become habit for you. The next time you do them, do them as if you were a beginner again. Start with your drive or commute to work. Make it an exercise in finding wonder. For example, perhaps you go by a school on your way. Spend some time thinking about things from your kidhood days in school. Then try this “fresh-eyed” approach to other routine tasks.

2.Make a list of things you found wonderful at different stages in your life.

If you write a journal do it there. If not, make these lists instead of watching TV one evening. Once you have the list, spend some time reveling in those wonders. Think too about how you could re-experience those things again.

3. Make a list of wonders you find each day or week.

Again, a great journaling task, or a great routine to add to your planning for a new week.

4. Plan a mini-vacation or a day trip to someplace wonderful for you.

I grew up on a farm, so a drive in the country in spring or fall is particularly helpful in restoring my sense of wonder in the growing process. Others might find your mini day to be boring - help them see your wonder - and in turn you will experience your own at a deeper level. Then go with them when they try to recapture their own.

5.Go to an old event, focused on different things.

The next time you go to a ball game, focus less on the action, and more on the spectators, or vice versa. Go shopping and shop for something entirely different than you usually would. You get the idea.

These are just a few ideas to help you re-infuse your life with wonder. This idea is really taking hold in my life, in small ways each day is more wonder-full and more meaningful as well.

I believe when you choose to rediscover your wonder, you’ll benefit in the same ways.

Use The Power Of Your Thoughts

Picture
The greatest power we ever got is the power of our thoughts.

There is an Intelligence inside us that can elevate our life at the highest level.

Everyone should learn to collaborate with this Intelligence which is organized to react on our intentions and to create with us a life of abundance and happiness.

Freedom, happiness, richness, love, friendship, health and wealth are our birth right.

We have been created to live our life in freedom, health and wealth. If our life doesn't look like that, it means we block ourselves by our thoughts. Our thoughts are very powerful instruments we use to either create happiness and wealth, or sickness and poverty.

If your life doesn't look like what you’re dreaming of, it means you have thoughts which go against you. Your thoughts create your life. If you want to change your life, change first your thoughts.

You can choose your thoughts. Nobody in the world can put a thought in your head without your permission. Your mind belongs to you!  It’s your job to control your thoughts! You are the master of your head, you are the guardian of your thoughts. You can change them. Choose those thoughts who will bring you the results you want.

Never think a thing you don’t want to happen.

Read that again : never think a thought you don’t want to become true.

It means : don’t think anything negative about yourself if you don’t want this thought to become real. If you don’t want to be stupid, stop thinking you are. If you don’t want to be fat, stop rehearsing in your head how fat you are now. If you don’t want to loose your boyfriend or girlfriend, stop thinking about this possibility.

Instead of these destructive thoughts, choose thoughts which reinforce you. Choose to think how intelligent you are, and you will be! Choose to think how beautiful you are, and you will shine like a star! Choose to think you are loved, and you will!

Thoughts are energy. Every thought carries an energy level. Your choice : or you choose thoughts which lower your energy level, or you choose thoughts which increase your  energy level.

It’s in your hands! Or better : it’s in your head! How you will feel and act depends on what you think. Every action and emotion is preceded by a thought.

You can choose thoughts which block you, or even paralyze you.
It's not any more difficult to watch your thoughts to be able to choose them consciously. It’s just a matter of exercise and consciousness.

Once you've learned how to become the master of your thoughts, you become the master of your life!

If checking your thoughts seems too difficult for now, you can start watching your mouth. Never let come out of your mouth something you don’t want to happen! Never wish a bad luck to anyone if you don’t want this to realize. Watch your mouth, watch your words, watch your thoughts, and become the creator of your own life!

Your life does not depend on others. It depends on your own ability to master your thoughts.

Permission To Be An Artist - Granted!

2/15/2013

Picture
Have you ever felt like you owe someone and explanation for why you have made certain decisions in your life. It almost feels like you need permission or approval in some aspect or another. Well, what you have been allowing to rule your life is the concept of permission.  I'm here to tell you that you can do anything you want, and you don't need any ones permission but your God.

Others just couldn't say yes, just couldn't give themselves permission.

What does it mean to have permission to do something? My thesaurus tells me that other words related to permission are: consent, sanctioning and authorization.

Consent signifies agreement, validation that what you're doing meets with specific expectations, criteria and guidelines. It sounds solemn and like someone has faith in you. Sanction is an even more formal declaration of acceptance and faith.

Authorized to Create

Authorization – well, that implies that you're something special. That not just anyone is meant to be painting this painting, writing this song or designing that jewelry. You have been specially authorized to do it.

And why? Because you have the unique gifts that are necessary to bring that creative project into being. Who authorized you? The same power that granted you those gifts and skills – whether you choose to think of that as God, the universe, Spirit, or another name. As we read in the Science of Getting Rich , we're not given the desire to do something without also giving you the skill to carry it out.

Why is it so difficult to authorize ourselves, grant ourselves permission and consent, to sanction our own creative work? Sometimes we seek this permission from others, unconsciously (or consciously) hoping they'll deny it, so we won't really have to venture into the scary world of living up to our potential.

A lot of these words symbolize that external permission is needed. And sometimes it is.

Permission from Others

Whether you want to attend an artist retreat day, meet a deadline or just develop a new idea that came to you overnight, you'll sometimes need permission from the people you share your life with to take the time for your creative work.

It might mean delegating household work or child-care or rescheduling a date or planned event. All of you might also need a willingness to be flexible and to accept that sometimes things don't get done right away.  It also means ensuring an environment of support for your work.

Will others give you permission? Of course you can't control what anyone else thinks, says or does, but consider this: our loved ones will take cues from us about how serious our creative work is to us. If we're constantly putting it on the back burner, putting our work down, and letting it be the first thing to go when things get stressful or busy, we're teaching others to treat it the same way.

If we don't take our creative work seriously, why should they?

Permission from Self – Artist at Work

I think what's even more important is the permission we give ourselves. There are so many reasons we deny ourselves permission to pursue our creative work. Fear tops the list. Fear of success, fear of failure, fear of what people will think of us, fear of being good, fear of being terrible, or fear we'll let someone else down, to name a few examples.

Sometimes we hold on to earlier instances when we were denied permission, denied access, not sanctioned or authorized, or when our work was criticized or belittled. Some of us have even been told, directly, NOT to pursue our creative work ("don't give up your day job", "find another path", "you have no business doing this work"), which hung a big UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS sign on the door of our creative hearts.

So hang a new sign on your creative heart – one that reads "Artist at work". And in fine print, "This work has been sanctioned by _______" (the name of your source of Power).

10 Signs That You've Given Yourself Permission To Be A Creative Artist

1. The first words out of your mouth when someone asks "and what do you do?" are "I'm a songwriter/artist/sculptor/writer, etc.".

2. You work steadily at your craft, whether it's working on or re-working pieces or promoting your work.

3. You teach your loved ones to treat your art seriously.

4. The materials and resources that you need to create with are part of your budget and are planned expenses every month.

5. You're committed to your learning, growth and development, participating in artists groups and discussion forums and seeking out mentor-ship and coaching.

6. You don't let mistakes or criticism stop you from taking your next steps.

7. You're building the resources you need to support yourself financially, emotionally and spiritually.

8. You're conscious of your physical lifestyle habits and choose the ones that won't interfere with your creative work.

9. You find opportunities to pass on your knowledge and support wherever possible, to someone who's had less experience than you have.

10. You consistently say no to requests for your time, energy and commitment that will take you away from your creative work.

Mind Power Through Mindfulness

2/11/2013

Being in the moment" doesn't mean avoiding thinking about the future. In fact, simple mindfulness exercises can increase your mind power and your ability to deal with the future.

Basic mindfulness exercises put you in a state of awareness where distractions are let go, and your mind power is able to function more effectively. They help you think more clearly and concentrate better. They are also easy exercises to do.

More Mind Power in Minutes

A basic mindfulness exercise starts with sitting down, relaxing and breathing deeply through your nose. Close your eyes and be aware of your breath going in and out. After a minute, move your attention to your body, one part at a time, noting sensations of cold, hot, tight, sore and  anything else you identify. In a few minutes, start listening to sounds in the room, without thinking about them. Just listen.

When it feels right, open your eyes and look around as if you are seeing for the first time. Rest your eyes on an object for half a minute, examining it without talking about it in your mind. Then move to another object, and another, while still maintaining an awareness of your body, your breathing, and any sounds. Stay in this state of mindfulness until you are ready to get up.

Being aware of your body, breath and immediate environment, puts you more fully "in the moment." Your mind is in a very receptive state, with fewer mental distractions that prevent clear thinking. Doing a  mindfulness exercise before important mental tasks will give you greater mind power, specifically more focus and concentration.

An Even Easier Mindfulness Trick

Try this one today: When you feel stressed, stop, and carefully watch yourself to identify what's bothering you. Maybe you're expecting something bad to happen, or an argument is going on just below the surface of your consciousness, or you're worried about something, or in pain in some way. Make a note of everything you find.

Then deal with these mind-irritants. Make a phone call that's on your mind, take an aspirin, apologize to whomever you were fighting with. Write things on tomorrow's list, to get them off your mind. If there's nothing you can do right now, tell yourself that. Do this exercise, and you'll feel less stressed, and more able to concentrate on the tasks at hand. You'll have more mind power today.

Inside Out Empowerment

Picture
When we are thinking of making changes in our lives, all too often we look externally. We have a perfect picture in our heads about what life should look like then we go about acting on life to give us whatever it is we think would be perfect. The only problem with this approach is that we are giving away our personal power.

Whenever we wait for certain things, people or conditions to be in place in order to be “happy,” what do we do in the meantime? I’ll be happy when my wife cooks more often or I’ll be happier if my husband were more romantic. Or I’ll be happy when my children start listening to what I say and stop sassing me every time I turn around. Or I’d be very happy at work if my boss would just recognize the contributions I make. This is when we want other people to match up to the perfect world we have created in our minds.

Then, there are those situations when we make our happiness contingent on certain things. I’ll be happy if I made more money. I can’t make more money until I finish my degree. I’ll be happy when we can have our own home. I’ll be happy if I can get a new job. I’ll be happy when my parents are healthy. Again, I ask, “What does one do in the meantime?”

While it is perfectly acceptable to hope for things to be different in your life and to strive to improve and make things better, it’s unacceptable to waste your life on negative emotions. There is a saying that you are what you think about and that what you keep in mind expands. So, if you are always focused on the negatives and the things you lack, then you will attract more negative into your.

However, if you focus on the positive and what you have that’s good and helpful, then you will attract more positive things into your life. Which would you rather have? Then you must begin to change your thinking.

We have almost total control over our thinking. I know there are unwelcome thoughts that intrude on our consciousness every day. However, we have the power once they are there to focus our mind elsewhere. All we need is to have a plan in place that whenever I think about X, Y and Z—things I don’t want occupying my mind—then, I will think about my summer vacation instead. Focus on any positive experience—past, present or future.

So why do you have to be the one who changes when it is obvious that the “other person” is the one with the problem. Inside Out Empowerment helps people put ownership of a problem where it belongs—with whoever is the most upset about it.  You must make things happen and not wait for them to occur. You are in charge of your thinking, and no one else.

If you are certain your boss is a controlling, arrogant jerk, do you think he or she is lying awake at night trying to figure out how to be more sensitive. Most likely not. He or she is not even acknowledging a problem. Fixing the problem comes with correct problem attribution. Whose problem is it? Problems belong to the one most disturbed by them and it is that person’s job to seek the solution. Chances are that you probably don't belong in that situation as it stands.

Most of human suffering is our resistance to what exists in our life. We become quite power hungry trying to change others to meet our needs. What would happen if you simply accepted everyone where they are at, without exception? What if you recognized that things are already perfect just the way they are? Could you be more content and happier with the life situations that already exist?

Inside Out Empowerment teaches individuals first to attribute the problem to the correct individual and then works with the problem owner at adjusting his or her behavior. This allows the unhappy person to be in the driver’s seat with his or her own emotions. Starting from the inside out, people empower themselves by adjusting their own thoughts and behavior to manage whatever life throws at them.

Inside Out Empowerment is such a powerful way to unleash your personal power in a big way. What are you waiting for?

The Key To Perseverance

2/5/2013

Picture
From a dictionary: "Persisting in or remaining constant to a purpose, idea or task in spite of obstacles." Notice it doesn't start, "Wisely persisting..."

Perseverance can clearly be both a good thing and a bad thing. Remember that when you find yourself wanting to quit something. Quitting might be the wisest choice.

Of course, the problem with the idea that you should quit when something isn't worth the effort, is that it's often used as a rationalization. It comes to mind when the effort is difficult, but really is worthwhile. It's confusing at times, so how do you wisely persevere? There are three important aspects to consider.

Keys To Wise Perseverance

 1. Self awareness: Notice when you look for excuses, rather than
truth. Are you letting fear or laziness cause you to quit or procrastinate? If
honestly watching yourself is difficult, explain your reasoning to a friend.
Close friends may be more likely than you to know when you're rationalizing.
(Think about it from the other direction and you'll see this can be true.)

 2. Costs and benefits: To wisely persevere, you need to see the costs
and benefits of what you are doing. If moving to Hollywood to become a star is
going to cost you your business or family life, you have to see that clearly
before you decide. An honest and good decision requires honest and good
information.

 3. Motivation: Once you've made a decision, and you're sure you made it
for the right reasons, you have to motivate yourself. In fact,  perseverance requires that you regularly re-motivate yourself. Write goals down, do daily affirmations, and whatever else you have to do.

Habit is the most powerful secret of success. Practice watching yourself to
make self-awareness a habit. Practice analyzing costs and benefits objectively,
and practice motivating yourself. By the way, there are many good motivation
techniques, so if what you're doing doesn't work - go read up on them and try
something else. That's perseverance.
